Call for Membership - NEW URBAN TOURISM

In order to provide an adequate framework for research in the increasingly relevant field of New Urban Tourism / Touristification / New Mobilities, the Georg-Simmel-Center for Metropolitan Studies initiates a research network for Ph.D. students and post docs. The aim of the working group is to provide a platform for young researchers at which a thematically focused, professional exchange of the latest research takes place at a regular basis. According to the philosophy of the Georg-Simmel-Center, it is desired to combine various disciplinary perspectives as well as different theoretical and conceptual approaches. As a result, publication projects are to be developed and implemented and a symposium will be conducted.

The working group meetings will take place on a regular basis, 2-3 times per year. The kick-off event is scheduled for November 27th, 2015 at the Georg-Simmel-Center and is designed as a workshop, in which a common agenda – depending on the specific research focuses of the working group members – will be established.

Ph.D. students and post-docs who are interested in a qualified, professional research network are warmly invited to send a short application including a brief description of the latest research interests (max. 1 page) and a tabular CV via email at bueroleitung-gsz@hu-berlin.de by November 1st. For inquiries please do not hesitate to get into contact with the initiators of the working group Natalie Stors (stors@uni-trier.de) and Christoph Sommer (christoph.sommer@gsz.hu-berlin.de).
