Job description
  • Scientific services in research and teaching of the history of Gestaltung at the Department of Cultural History and Theory;
  • conception and development of international research projects bridging humanities, design theory and practice, natural sciences and engineering;
  • organization and execution of workshops, conferences and exhibitions;
  • application for third-party funding and grants; enhancement of scientific profile and achievement; tasks for own scientific qualification

Requirements

  • Completed academic university degree in Cultural History and Theory or closely related subjects; PhD beneficial;
  • experience in design, and/or craft practice and/or theory;
  • excellent German and English language skills (preferably native speaker competence);
  • good French language skills (spoken and written);
  • preferably further research in: History and Theory of Design/Craft/Industry, Technics (Arts, Crafts, Design, Engineering), Natural Sciences (Biology, Live Engineering, Ethnology), History and Theory of Science and Technology;
  • strong interest in interdisciplinary research; high motivation and independence, capacity for teamwork and communication skills
